Some countries have invested much in skyscrapers as a show of might and ego. Some of the other reasons why some cities invest in such is to maximize on land use. Most of the engineers think that we have not exhausted the space up and the only way to go is up. That is the reason we have the tallest buildings that you may not think they exist.

Shanghai Tower is the 2nd tallest building in the world with a height of 632 meters, and 128 floors. This highest skyscraper is found in Lujiazui, Pudong, Shanghai. It houses hotels, restaurants, retail stores, and parks among others purposes.
3. Makkah Royal Clock Tower

This is a tall building with up to 120 floors, 601 meters height. Makkah Royal Clock Tower is also known as the Abraj Al-Bait of Mecca, and is located in Saudi Arabia. This Tower was the project of King Abdulaziz in his bid to modernize the city, and houses hotels and offices.

Ping An Finance Center was constructed in 2010 and is the tallest skyscraper in Shenzhen, China. It’s the fourth tallest building in the world, and with 115 floors. The height of this building is 599 meters, and is a multi-purpose building many businesses in place.
5. Goldin Finance 117

Number of floors: 117
This is one of the highest buildings in China, and among the top 10 in the world. Goldin Finance 117 is 596 meters high, and with 117 floors as the name suggest. It is set to be opened in 2021 as is now in completion stage.
6. Lotte World Tower

This tower breaks South Korean record as the tallest building in the country. The building is an original accent of the Korean tradition and architecture. It’s a mixed purpose building and houses luxury hotels, concert halls, rooftop café, and apartments among other buildings.
7. One World Trade Center

One World Trade Center is one of the tallest buildings in United States, and in the whole world. The purpose of this magnificent building as spearheaded by David Rockefeller was to help enhance and revitalize the lover Manhattan. It is the centerpiece of trade and tourism attraction.

This building is also in China and was completed in 2016. Up to date, it remains the center stage for hotels, offices, and restaurants among other businesses. In China, Guangzhou CTF Finance Center is the 3rd tallest.
9. Chow Tai Fook Center Tianjin

Number of floors: 97
Another awe-inspiring skyscraper in Tianjin, China comes with 97 floors, and is 530 meters in height. It is the same height with Guangzhou CTF Finance Center but with less floors compared. It houses many businesses and is one of the modern multipurpose buildings in Tianjin.
10. CITIC Tower
Last but not least comes CITIC Tower, one of the supertall skyscrapers in China. This particular building is located in Beijing’s central business district. It is 528 meters high, and with 109 floors.
